U Drive Screws Specs & Info

U Drive Screws

U-Drive Screws are specially designed screws that feature a round metallic head, and multiple starting threads. The main purposes of U-drive screws are to securely and permanently fasten components typically made of plastic or metal. The unique head design and threads enable the U-drive screw to provide a secure hold, and can be driven into the components through applied pressure. The U-drive screws are often used also for aesthetic appearances, as they present a smooth surface when completely inserted into the components.

U-drive screws (Hammer Drive Screws) are unslotted round head thread forming screws having multiple start threads with a large helical angle and an unthreaded pilot point. The fastener is case-hardened and must be harder than the mating part and is to be driven or hammered into a substrate (eg. plastics, sheet metals, or castings) for a quick permanent assembly. Requires an undersized pre-drilled or punched hole for maximum adhesion.
